Welcome to the Youth Meeting Resource. One of the biggies in FBYM is helping parents pass on their faith to their teen. We as youth workers can creatively create such situations to help the parent not feel inadequate to do that and to help the teen to receive it. What are those meeting ideas you have done that have worked?

Take a day and tour four different worship centers in your community. The four could be a Catholic church, a Jewish synagogue, an Islamic mosque and a very different type of Protestant church. For example, if you are Assembly of God, choose an Episcopal church. If you are Lutheran, choose a church which meets in a storefront. If you are Catholic, choose each type. | | Please leave a comment or share an idea |

Have you ever seen those beautiful sand sculptures at beaches? The ones with the fine details? If not, put together a powerpoint slide show of some masterpiece sand sculptures to plant ideas into the youth and parents' heads. Then plan a day for everyone to gather and build their own sand castle--one family unit to each sand creation. During a building project, family dynamics come out. Use what you observe for a further discussion. I was able to ask some poignant questions as a result of this project. Don't forget to take pictures of the finished creations and post in a prominent spot at church. This is going to become an annual event for our church. | | Please leave a comment or share an idea |

This is a parent/teen game done in the format of The Newlywed Game. A parent and their teen has a chance to compare their answers to some questions for points and prizes. Lots of game/idea books have this idea but the following are exact notes that we used which were very helpful to pull of this large and memorable evening. | | Please leave a comment or share an idea |
